Cranbrook School, a prestigious Anglican independent day and boarding institution, stands majestically overlooking Sydney Harbour. Founded in 1918 as a sanctuary for the pursuit of truth and knowledge, Cranbrook School has been the epitome of academic excellence for over a century. In a significant chapter of its history, the original classroom building, the Perkins Building, constructed in 1919-1920, recently underwent a remarkable transformation.

        Cranbrook School aspired to convert the Perkins Building into a dedicated world-class Music Facility. To bring this vision to life, the school engaged TCW to procure loose furniture and specialty joinery units for administration areas and teaching spaces within the building. The client’s brief was clear – to provide highly functional and durable furniture solutions that offered flexibility and contemporary aesthetics.

        TCW recognised the importance of intelligently designed furniture that would meet the functional and aspirational needs of the students and teaching staff. The key furniture solutions provided by TCW that contributed to the success of this project include:

        SKY PARK – SYDNEY FC

        In September 2023, Sydney FC proudly unveiled its remarkable $30 million football and community precinct, Sky Park. This state-of-the-art Centre of Excellence is poised to redefine the club’s identity, serving as a central hub for professional football teams, the youth Academy, dedicated coaching staff, and essential administrative personnel. The inauguration of Sky Park also marked a historic moment for women’s football in Australia, introducing dedicated facilities to nurture the most promising young female footballers, thus paving the way for Sydney FC’s A-League Women’s squad.

        The collaboration between Sydney FC and Macquarie University was instrumental in the success of Sky Park. This partnership was founded on a shared commitment to fostering community engagement, education, and grassroots football.  Sydney FC Chairman Scott Barlow was actively involved in the project and spoke with excitement at the opening, Sky Park is finally here. It is a world-class facility that we have been working on for many years. It brings together our entire club under one roof for the first time.  We now have a home, in Sky Park, to be very proud of.”

              TCW’s comprehensive furniture procurement for Sky Park Sydney FC included a diverse range of carefully selected elements, meticulously chosen to enhance both functionality and aesthetics. From the ergonomic To-Sync task chairs by Dauphin to the versatile Noom 50 breakout chairs with removable writing tables by Actiu and stackable Noom 50 chairs, equipped with trolleys for mobility, every piece contributes to this dynamic facility. The Noom 30 upholstered chairs by Actiu, Little Perillo chairs by Zuco, and Noom 40 stools by Actiu add elegance and comfort to various areas, while the contemporary Rhythm Chair offers flexibility.

              The facility includes inviting lounge spaces featuring Allora lounges by Dauphin and Talk lounges by Jonas Ihreborn. Office suites are equipped with Wing Meeting Tables and desks from the TCW Collection. Flexible workstations integrate Mox Pro workstations by Markant, complete with cable management for a clutter-free environment. Athena power rails provide easy access to power sources, and Marco folding tables by Elevar enhance adaptability. This comprehensive furniture selection reflects a commitment to creating a highly functional and visually appealing workspace.

              Sky Park’s architectural design is a testament to its aspiration of seamlessly blending world-class football and community engagement. The design fosters interaction and connectivity within the facility and with the external environment.

              Sky Park extends its reach far beyond professional football, warmly welcoming community engagement programs, fan days, university education initiatives, and grassroots football training. An outdoor futsal court, adaptable for various uses such as education space, marketplace, or community BBQ area, stands as a testament to the facility’s dedication to fostering lasting community connections.

              Westfund has been caring for Australians for over 140 years with its origins in the provision of health cover to the mining community in western NSW. Throughout this time, Westfund’s focus on health and wellbeing and connection within our communities has seen their greater expansion into regional areas in both NSW and Queensland. TCW has been working with Westfund and Danks Design Group on the rollout of customer care branches over multiple sites, to coincide with their brand evolution which is as much a celebration of the history of Westfund and their focus towards the future.

                    The projects, located in regional centres, form a central strategy for Westfund in their establishment of accessible and member focused facilities for both senior members of the community and the growing number of people relocating from city centres since the pandemic.

                    The guiding principles of the design reflect the notion of a welcoming and comfortable space with well-being, sustainability and technology considered throughout. The brand identity’s circular language is woven through the spaces providing a reference to the holistic nature of Westfund and its cohesive and community focused philosophy.

                    TCW’s ability to supply furniture solutions nationally enabled consistency and certainty in all locations. Sit-to-stand desks are teamed with adjustable monitor arms to deliver workstations that enhance productivity, ergonomics and well-being. The dynamic and affordable To-sync chairs combine clever design with functionality with synchronised movements and total adjustability. Noom Chairs provide comfort for visitors with their friendly and elegant designs, which promote communication and relaxation and the graceful Little Perillo chairs make a stylish impression. Meeting spaces are informal and flexible and lounge areas are designed to enhance the warmth and welcoming atmosphere. Sustainability initiatives include the selection of energy-efficient lighting and services and carbon-neutral floor coverings made in part from recovered and recycled fishing nets.

                    The rollout of customer care branches for Westfund has delivered on its promise to create welcoming and beautifully designed facilities that are focused on providing an excellent workplace for its staff and memorable experiences for its members. The projects are a direct reflection of Westfund’s process which is founded on collaboration, innovation and engagement.



                    PLC VISION VALLEY

                    Set on more that 75 acres of land surrounded by national parks and close to the majestic Hawkesbury River and its tributaries, Vision valley is located 45 minutes’ drive from the main campus of Pymble Ladies College (PLC). Vision Valley was created to provide an extensive, diverse range of activities for experiential learning and wellness activities for the students of PLC.

                    The facility includes a conference centre, sporting field, camping area, an archery range, a dam for canoeing and raft building, rock climbing and abseiling sites, ropes course, mountain bike trails and a dual zip-line. Vision Valley is designed to build the students self-efficacy, resilience, courage, leadership and team work under the guidance of specialist instructors.

                          Stringybark Lodge at Vision Valley, is the transformation of an existing student accommodation building into an experiential learning facility for the students of PLC designed by Janineous Design to create a ‘home away from home’ for up to 70 students.

                          Connecting the indoors with the outdoors was of prime importance and has been achieved through the use of hues of green with light timbers, neutral flooring & window treatments with accents of white incorporated into the design. Aquila Chairs in the entry area reflect the biophilic colours and forms of the natural eucalypt surrounds. Their elegant design adds a sense of warmth and welcoming atmosphere to Stringybark Lodge and their excellent craftsmanship provides all round comfort.

                          Flexibility and modularity are key features of the space, with furniture selected to allow for a variety of accommodation styles and also allow the students to change furniture arrangements to suit their activities. Folding U.R tables by Thinking Works provide settings for learning and dining and allow for open floor space whilst stored effortlessly in dedicated storage rooms. Components are produced from materials such as die cast aluminium and have been designed using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to ensure the strongest structure whilst eliminating excess material.  U.R has been designed for 100% disassembly, ready for recycling and are fitted with lockable soft tread castors and are supplied with table linking mechanisms as a standard feature.

                          Fiore Chairs by Dauphin complete the flexible dining and learning space and continue the theme of hues of green and white accents. Inspired by the smooth contour of a petal, the seating shells on sled bases allow for easy stacking and storing.

                          Modular seating and large operable wall complete the multifunctional area which is bathed in natural light with uncompromised views throughout of the bushland surrounds. Stringybark Lodge has successfully created a welcoming and supportive environment which enhances the learning experiences for the students of PLC.

                                ForHealth exists to support independent doctors, dentists, nurses and allied health practitioners. Their mission is to empower over 1300 independent health practitioners to provide quality, accessible healthcare for all Australians from the largest cities to the most remote and at-risk communities.

                                A suite of products has been installed in over 22 locations specifically for healthcare environments including, Oxy-Ply Chairs made of a single sheet of ply which is lightweight and sturdy with full lumbar support. Manufactured by Luxmy, the Oxy-Ply Chair comprises of a plywood frame over metals that are commonly used for bariatric seating, bringing a sense of warmth and comfort for waiting patients. Uma Beam Seating is a versatile, natural style visitor chair system designed by Lledo & Campos for ACTIU which can be customised with different arm options and provides maximum comfort through its smart combination of shapes and textures. Uma’s technical savviness and quality finishes further improve the ergonomics and enhance its aesthetics. Inspired by meandering rivers, Bend Seating moves through the spaces creating different lounge areas which cater to patients waiting individually or in groups. Consisting of four different modules, Bend Seating provides an almost infinite scope for customisation. The seating solutions now installed in ForHealth’s Medical Centres are teamed with Australian made Talki Tables by Luxmy, which are manufactured with class, simplicity and sustainability in mind.

                                TCW has completed the new workplace for Tennant Australia in Western Sydney, a recognised global leader in the design, manufacturing and the creation of innovative solutions for sustainable cleaning equipment and products. Working with JMD Design and Accelerate, TCW supplied and installed workstations, loose furniture and accessories that were in line with Tennant’s sustainability initiatives to create a “cleaner, safer and healthier world”.

                                       TCW’s recommendations included the Matrix Pro desk system as it represents the next innovative step for aiding the alternation between sitting and standing. The worktop can be swiftly and silently adjusted to the desired height. Through the cable management system solutions, the desk always looks tidy in any position. Combined with LX Desk Monitor Arm, screens can be positioned to suit the user’s requirements to create a perfectly ergonomic position as well as freeing up desk space and increasing visibility. To ensure that the client’s floor layout best suited their requirements, TCW also created a customised solution in the form of 120 degree workstations which satisfy the precise needs of certain user groups.

                                      Both ergonomic and practical, the Anders Chair provides a modern compact designed chair incorporating both timber and polypropylene. The chair offers a high level of comfort and support as well as being very, strong, durable and stackable to 4 high. The Anders Chair is the ideal solution for the break out areas and staff café, adding a splash of colour and sophistication to the workplace. These combine beautifully with Australian-made Talki tables which are perfect for collaborative and flexible environments. To further support the workspace, storage items including lockable mobile pedestals and tambour door cabinets were installed with biophilia elements positioned throughout in laminate planter boxes.

TCW also supplied 10  Noom 30 reception Chairs by Actiu, 78 Tambour Doors Storage Cabinets, 11 Laminate Credenzas and 147 C-Me Monitor Arms.

                                             

                                            Bakers Delight were celebrating 40 years in business and wanted to create a warm and inviting space to reflect the culture of Baker’s Delight and to ensure all staff felt like they are part of a family environment. The site is in the same site as when they started all those years ago that included open and collaborative zones with finishes that included soft timber hues, hints of gold, calming sage and an abundance of biophilia to create a tranquil space that also pays homage to bakeries of old.
