Design Firm: FJMT and Building Studio Sydney University Camperdown
The Charles Perkins Centre aims to ease the burden of obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease by translating the work of the University of Sydney into real-world solutions. At the heart of the Charles Perkins Centre is a $385 million research and education hub.
TCW managed furniture procurement and delivery at the Charles Perkins Centre from 2012 to 2014. We worked closely with both the University and the architects to select products which best fit the brief and exceeded expectations of design, quality of materials and engineering, longevity (10 year warranties), lead time and budget. TCW provided solutions to several key areas: scientific laboratories, learning spaces, breakout areas and cafés.
Approximately 1500 Dauphin Industry stools were delivered and installed in November 2013. The Dauphin Tec Stools are a niche seating group of chairs specifically designed for activities requiring high levels of concentration and/or cleanliness. Since the completion of the project, Dauphin Industry stools have continued to be specified for other University projects where quality laboratory seating is required.
TCW delivered and installed 600 tables from ThinkingWorks, which were locally manufactured and finished to the architects’ specifications.
