UTS Insearch

Design Firm: PTID

UTS Insearch is the premium pathway providing students to enter the University of Technology (UTS) after graduation in a range of courses. As UTS Insearch continues to grow, TCW, in collaboration with the client and PTID Interiors, has since 2014 become a key resource for furniture.

New methods of teaching have prompted UTS to establish alternative teaching and learning spaces to deliver their curriculum – larger classrooms, mobile furniture and technology all contribute to this.

As TCW has experience in many education spaces, we always looks to provide a furniture solution that goes above and beyond just the ‘need’ but also delights and inspires. Initially we worked in the fit out of several levels at 187 Thomas street, and more recently the Insearch facility on Harris street.

As you walk in, the lobby breakout space feature is the ‘Signs’ soft seating, an organic benching system that allows for students to utilize the space in a fluid way. Upstairs you find scattered arrangements with the ‘Zebra bicolore’ and ‘Cage’ chairs set into spaces suited to group learning and complementing the feature walls.
