Westfund has been caring for Australians for over 140 years with its origins in the provision of health cover to the mining community in western NSW. Throughout this time, Westfund’s focus on health and wellbeing and connection within our communities has seen their greater expansion into regional areas in both NSW and Queensland. TCW has been working with Westfund and Danks Design Group on the rollout of customer care branches over multiple sites, to coincide with their brand evolution which is as much a celebration of the history of Westfund and their focus towards the future.
The projects, located in regional centres, form a central strategy for Westfund in their establishment of accessible and member focused facilities for both senior members of the community and the growing number of people relocating from city centres since the pandemic.
The guiding principles of the design reflect the notion of a welcoming and comfortable space with well-being, sustainability and technology considered throughout. The brand identity’s circular language is woven through the spaces providing a reference to the holistic nature of Westfund and its cohesive and community focused philosophy.
TCW’s ability to supply furniture solutions nationally enabled consistency and certainty in all locations. Sit-to-stand desks are teamed with adjustable monitor arms to deliver workstations that enhance productivity, ergonomics and well-being. The dynamic and affordable To-sync chairs combine clever design with functionality with synchronised movements and total adjustability. Noom Chairs provide comfort for visitors with their friendly and elegant designs, which promote communication and relaxation and the graceful Little Perillo chairs make a stylish impression. Meeting spaces are informal and flexible and lounge areas are designed to enhance the warmth and welcoming atmosphere. Sustainability initiatives include the selection of energy-efficient lighting and services and carbon-neutral floor coverings made in part from recovered and recycled fishing nets.
The rollout of customer care branches for Westfund has delivered on its promise to create welcoming and beautifully designed facilities that are focused on providing an excellent workplace for its staff and memorable experiences for its members. The projects are a direct reflection of Westfund’s process which is founded on collaboration, innovation and engagement.
